One of the things I love most about living in Fort Worth is how easy it is to get to the Trinity Trails and feel like you’ve left the city without actually leaving it. On a good day, I’ll get on the trail near Clearfork or somewhere along the Trinity River and suddenly the noise drops away. You still know you’re in Fort Worth, but the pace changes in a way I don’t think outsiders always expect.
What makes the trails special isn’t just the exercise part. It’s the way they connect so many different parts of the city—river views, open stretches, bridges, and those moments when you pass bikers, runners, families, and people just taking a long walk with no agenda. I also like how the trail system lets you see different sides of the city: one stretch can feel close to downtown, and another can feel almost quiet and prairie-like.
“The Trinity Trails system offers more than 100 miles of trails along the Trinity River and its tributaries.”
That kind of access matters in a city this spread out. For me, the trails are where Fort Worth feels most livable. They’re one of the few places where you can get a real sense of the city’s geography—how the river bends, how the neighborhoods meet it, and how much green space we actually have if we make the effort to use it.
So I’m wondering: what’s your favorite part of the Trinity Trails system? Do you prefer the busier stretches near Clearfork and West 7th, or the quieter sections farther out? I’m always looking for new entry points and lesser-known stretches that feel especially Fort Worth.
